Images and alt text

Find photos on Unsplash or in the File Manager, use your own images, and have Sprocket Rocket AI write alt text.

Photos from Unsplash

Ask for a picture by what it shows, such as "a team meeting in a bright office", and Sprocket Rocket can show a grid of matching photos from Unsplash in the chat. Use View full photo to see one larger, and Use this photo to put it on the page.

The photo is loaded from Unsplash, not copied into your portal. Sprocket Rocket places a credit for the photographer and Unsplash next to the image on the page. Unsplash photos work well for drafts and prototypes. Swap in your own images before launch when you have them.

Images from your File Manager

Sprocket Rocket can search the portal's HubSpot File Manager by file name or folder. It can't search by what a picture shows, so name the file or folder when you can: "use the logo in the brand folder". Matching images appear in the chat under Images from File Manager.

File Manager search, and placing uploaded or attached images on a page, need the File Manager permission on the portal's connection. When the connection doesn't have it, Sprocket Rocket stops and shows a Reconnect HubSpot card instead of failing. Organization owners and admins see Reconnect; other members see Portal settings and need an owner or admin to reconnect the portal. If the permission stays off after a reconnect, a HubSpot Super Admin has switched it off for the account, and Sprocket Rocket shows a Turn on File Manager in HubSpot card instead. Follow A permission stays off after reconnecting.

Your own images

Attach an image in the composer to use it on the page. Images you upload through the image button go into the File Manager, ready to place. A pasted image is a reference only. If Sprocket Rocket needs to put it on the page, it copies it into the File Manager first. See Attach images.

Alt text

Have Sprocket Rocket write alt text, or accept its offer when it notices images without any. It finds every image on the page, looks at each one, and writes alt text from what it sees, never from the file name. It won't write alt text for an image it hasn't looked at.

Sprocket Rocket reporting the alt text it wrote for each image on the page

Sprocket Rocket writes alt text into:

  • image fields in modules
  • images inside rich text, changing only that image's alt

Background images take no alt text, so Sprocket Rocket leaves them alone.
