Uninstall a Marketplace theme
Remove a Sprocket Rocket Marketplace theme from HubSpot without breaking pages that still use its modules.
Uninstalling deletes the theme's modules
Any page that still uses one of those modules breaks, even if that page has already been switched to a template from the app's theme. Do not uninstall until no page, blog, or system template references the theme or its modules.
Pages on the app's theme can still depend on the Marketplace theme
Changing a page's template does not change the modules on it. A page moved to the app's theme keeps every module it had, and those modules still live in the Marketplace theme. The page looks fine because both themes share the same styles, so nothing warns you.
Uninstall the Marketplace theme at that point and every one of those modules disappears from the page.
Creating an app-managed installation does not move these dependencies either. Follow the full move existing pages steps, including replacing the Marketplace modules with the app theme's equivalents, before you consider the theme unused.
Before you uninstall
- In HubSpot, open Design Manager and find the theme under
@marketplace. - For each module in the theme, check in Design Manager which pages use it. Include pages that already use a template from the app's theme.
- Replace each use with the app theme's equivalent module or a module from a shared asset folder, then publish the page.
- Check that no page, blog template, or system template still uses a template from the theme.
- Keep the theme while any child theme still depends on it. A child theme inherits from its parent and stops working without it.
HubSpot may block removal while assets are still in use, but do not rely on that check. It does not always catch modules referenced from pages on another theme.
After you uninstall
Uninstalling the Marketplace theme does not delete your Sprocket Rocket account or your app-managed installation. Disconnecting a portal or deleting an app-managed installation is a separate action. The app never uninstalls the Marketplace theme for you.
If you adopted the Marketplace theme in the app, remove it from the portal with Delete install in its actions menu. This removes the install from the app only and does not delete any files in HubSpot.
The app detects a Core or Stack purchase from the Marketplace theme in the portal. If you have not connected the portal yet, connect the purchase before you uninstall.
