Page settings and SEO
Change a page's title, URL, meta description, and social image, and use Sprocket Rocket AI to improve its SEO.
The Page settings dialog
In Page Builder, open the page menu in the toolbar and choose Page settings. Changes are saved to the draft. Publishing takes them live.
| Setting | What it is |
|---|---|
| Internal page name | The name you see in HubSpot and in the Pages list. Visitors never see it. |
| Page title | The name in the browser tab and in search results. It defaults to the internal page name. |
| Page type | Website page or landing page. Changing it keeps the page, its URL, and its content. |
| Page URL | The domain and the slug after it. Use a single slash (/) for the home page. |
| Meta description | The summary search engines show. Keep it under 155 characters. |
| Social sharing image | The image social networks show when someone shares the page, with its alt text. |
| Head HTML and Footer HTML | Snippets, embed codes, or tracking scripts added to the page's <head> or just before </body>. |
Delete page at the bottom of the dialog removes the page from HubSpot, along with its history in Sprocket Rocket. It can't be undone.
Sprocket Rocket can change every setting here except the head and footer HTML. Set those yourself. It changes the page type only when you ask it to move the page between website pages and landing pages.
Change settings by chat
Tell Sprocket Rocket in plain words: "write a meta description", "shorten the title", "change the URL to /pricing". It sees the current title, meta description, URL, and social image, and offers to fix a missing meta description, a placeholder title, or a missing social image. It never makes up a slug you didn't ask for.
Changing the URL of a published page
When Sprocket Rocket changes the slug or domain of a page that is already published, it offers a redirect from the old URL to the new one, so links and search results keep working. The redirect is a card you confirm. See Domains and redirects.
Social sharing image
The social sharing image is the image networks such as LinkedIn show when the page is shared. Use one at least 1200 × 630 pixels. Sprocket Rocket checks the size and tells you when an image is smaller. It usually picks the hero image, since that shows what the page is about, and writes alt text for it.
Improve SEO
Ask in the chat how to make the page rank or convert better. It suggests a clearer title and meta description, one H1 with headings in order, internal links, alt text, and a stronger call to action, and it makes the changes you agree to. When an idea is worth measuring instead of guessing, it offers an A/B test.
PageSpeed Insights
Sprocket Rocket can run Google PageSpeed Insights on a published page: scores for performance, accessibility, best practices, and SEO, and the audits that failed. It then fixes what it can on the page, such as alt text, headings, and the meta description, and names the fixes that belong to the theme or to HubSpot. A draft can't be tested, so publish the page first. A run takes 20 to 60 seconds.
Internal links
Sprocket Rocket can search the portal's published pages and blog posts to find pages worth linking to, or to find a page you name. This uses HubSpot's site search, which needs Content Hub Professional. On other plans, it tells you it can't search.
